Galaxy Executive Board

The Galaxy Exec is a group of principal investigators from around the world, that is responsible for coordinating the direction of the Galaxy Project, a mature, successful research software infrastructure project, with a large and diverse global audience.
The Galaxy Exec was formed at the Galaxy Directions Summit in 2019, which gathered together ~20 PIs from around the world. Initially, all Exec members run large grants that have Galaxy as a core part of their aims.
Mission Statement
The Galaxy Executive Board is the top-level community governance structure, responsible for the overall direction and coordination of project activities, to ensure coherence, efficiency, integrity, growth, and long term sustainability.
Board responsibilities include providing authoritative project-wide, external representation; leadership in scientific, technical, governance and community development goals; supporting communication and global activity coordination for efficient use of resources and timely completion of milestones; and arbitration among collaborators, users and communities.
