🛠️ Tools

Galaxy Europe offers several thousand tools! To customise them to your needs, you can use the My Tools panel on the left-hand side. To see an overview of all tools installed on the platform, click on the button Discover Tools. A new page opens in the middle panel. There you can search for tool names, tags and much more. If you do not know where to start, you can click on this link to get an example of tools that are relevant in the SSH domain. You will see a list of tools, with the tag “Humanities” below. Click on the star to favourite this tag and see all tools tagged with “Humanities” in your own tool panel on the left.

Are you looking for a specific tool? Type in the name, for example, Open Refine. The tool also has a little star (in the same line as the tool name) that you can click to add it to your favourites and the customised tool panel.

That way you can customise your tool panel to your needs. This option is particularly nice if you are working in an interdisciplinary field and want to use tools from various domains.

🎓 Tutorials

Check out the DH section of the Galaxy Training Network (shortened to GTN). The GTN provides open educational resources (OER) that teach you how to use Galaxy. If you have never worked with Galaxy before, we recommend starting with our Introduction to Digital Humanities in Galaxy.

Have you created a cool workflow? Do you want to add it as a tutorial? Wonderful! Documentation for providing further tutorials can be accessed here. We are open to contributions!
