Galaxy Community Hub

German BioImaging (GerBI-GMB) is hosting the 19th OME Community Meeting, a free 3-day in-person event bringing together the open microscopy community in Düsseldorf, Germany, for talks, workshops, and discussions around OMERO, OME-Zarr, and the future of bioimaging infrastructure.

The Galaxy Image Analysis Community will be represented with a workshop this year:

Workshop: From OMERO to Galaxy and Back: Workflows for BioImaging 📅 April 28–30, 2026 — 17:10–18:40 CEST

Diana Chiang Jurado (University of Freiburg) and Beatriz Serrano-Solano will present an overview of image analysis in Galaxy and demonstrate how Galaxy enables accessible, reproducible bioimaging workflows — with a focus on the Galaxy OMERO-suite and its integration with OMERO.

The workshop will cover:

  • An introduction to image analysis in Galaxy: tools, workflows, and use cases for the bioimaging community
  • The Galaxy OMERO-suite: how to fetch images and metadata from OMERO into Galaxy, process them, and push results back
  • A live demo of a full round-trip pipeline — from OMERO to Galaxy and back
