Vahid Jalili

Vahid is a post-doctoral researcher at George Washington University, where he works on extending Galaxy in the areas of databases, information retrieval, visual analytics, and cancer informatics. In 2016 he was awarded his Ph.D. degree on Information Technology at the Politecnico di Milano, with a dissertation entitled "Efficient data structures for cross-samples inferences on genomic data" focused on tertiary analysis of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, discussing systematic solutions for analytical and computational challenges of NGS data. His research interest spans topics in computational biology, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence; such as information retrieval and data mining in Genomics, cognitive inhibition and visual perception, and application of artificial intelligence to games.
